Cekin
Minimalist personal safety check-in app. Set a custom interval, confirm you're safe with one tap — if you miss it, Cekin silently notifies your emergency contacts with your last known coordinates and battery level.
Challenge
People doing solo travel, outdoor activities, or working in isolated conditions had no lightweight way to keep loved ones reassured of their safety without surrendering continuous location tracking.
Solution
Built a quiet, privacy-first check-in experience: configurable interval, single-tap confirmation that resets the countdown, a silent grace period with private warnings, and an emergency alert that only fires when the grace window actually expires.
Features
- Custom safety check-in interval that adapts to daily routine, travel, or outdoor activities
- Single-tap verification that logs battery status and resets the safety countdown
- Silent grace period with private local notifications to prevent false alarms
- Emergency alert to designated contacts carrying last known coordinates, address, and battery level — only fired after the grace window expires
- Bilateral consent: contacts must explicitly accept before seeing your status
- Real-time battery level of loved ones who added you as their emergency contact
